Get on the bus! Back by popular demand, the second annual day of teaching the Grateful Dead is here. Join TeachRock and New York City Public Schools Department of Social Studies and Civics for a full day of professional learning dedicated to the Grateful Dead. Attendees will explore how the Grateful Dead's music shaped and reflected key moments in history, and prepare to bring these sounds and stories back to their classrooms. Part of the 2026–2027 Rock and Roll Classroom PL Tour, this session equips teachers with lesson plans, materials, and strategies drawn from NYCPS’s Hidden Voices, along with TeachRock’s curriculum and Music as a Primary Source methodology. This session builds on last year's for returning attendees, but no prior experience is needed to join.
