Attendees will explore the CCCADI exhibit curated by Know Your Caribbean, Jab, J’ouvert, Revelry & Resistance: An Afro-Caribbean Carnival Story. We will analyze the ways that the wide range of music of the African diaspora has inspired, documented, and responded to historical moments worldwide. Part of the 2026–2027 The Music Never Stops Professional Learning Tour, this session equips teachers with lesson plans, materials, and strategies drawn from NYCPS’s Hidden Voices, along with TeachRock’s curriculum and Music as a Primary Source methodology.
